Role Overview
Halal Lead Auditor on a freelance basis with SGS, the world's leading Testing, Inspection and Certification company.

Role Purpose
To plan, conduct, and manage Halal certification audits on a freelance basis, assessing organizational compliance with applicable Halal standards, regulations, and legal requirements while maintaining audit integrity and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Planning & Execution
- Plan and conduct audits on a freelance basis within agreed timeframes.
- Apply audit principles, procedures, and techniques in accordance with ISO 19011.
- Understand the organization's processes and operational context.
- Apply appropriate sampling techniques during audits.
Evidence Collection & Assessment
- Collect and verify audit evidence through interviews, observation, and document review.
- Assess compliance with applicable Halal standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Identify and evaluate audit findings and conclusions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare clear and accurate audit reports.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of audit information.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, or another relevant food-related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the product or service categories for which the auditor will conduct Halal certification audits, in accordance with UAE.S. 2055-2 and GSO.S. 2055-2.
- At least 2 years of experience in Halal auditing based on GSO 2055 requirements and Food Safety, supported by relevant audit records or an audit log sheet.
- Within the last 3 years, completion of at least 12 audit days across a minimum of 4 premises, under the supervision of a qualified auditor.
- Practical experience in Food & Beverage (F&B) and/or food manufacturing.
Skills & Competencies
- GSO/UAE 2055 Halal Lead Auditor requirements and standards.
- Audit principles and techniques based on ISO 19011.
- Relevant Food Safety Management System standards, such as ISO 22000.
- Halal qualifications and training in applicable product categories.
