Role Overview
Graduate Tech Safety Engineer position with Wood PLC, a leading provider of integrated and innovative solutions in the Oil, Gas & New Energies sector. This is a UAE-based role for UAE Nationals.

Role Purpose
To identify potential hazards, implement safety protocols, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards to protect employees, equipment, and the environment. This role focuses on building a culture of safety within the organization through risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and employee education.
Key Responsibilities
Hazard Identification and Safety Implementation
- Identify potential hazards and implement safety protocols to protect employees, equipment, and the environment.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identifications to minimize workplace accidents and incidents.
Compliance and Auditing
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA standards.
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
Emergency Planning
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans tailored to the organization's needs.
Training and Education
- Create and deliver training programs to educate employees on proper safety protocols and procedures.
Incident Investigation
- Investigate accidents or near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of safety within the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Fresh graduate with a Chemical Engineering degree.
- Graduate level understanding of Engineering practices, design methods and calculations.
- Graduate level of competence in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution.
- Graduate level of knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation.
- Graduate level of competence in own discipline in the execution of assigned tasks.
- Graduate level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to their discipline of engineering.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Well adept in utilizing MS Office.
- Good communication, reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret and prepare applicable technical information and suggest design changes to ensure functional and cost-effective results.
- Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports.
- Good level of general computer literacy and basic familiarity with some relevant specialist engineering software.
- Demonstrates the application of theory in a practical context.
- Demonstrates awareness of policies and procedures that affect specific job assignments.
