Role Purpose

To carry out commissioning, installation, repair, maintenance, and upgrading of large rotating electrical machines and their associated control equipment in field and offshore settings.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning and Installation

• Commission HV Generators, Motors, Synchronous condensers, Power management systems (PMS), Electrical protection systems, Excitation Controllers (AVRs), and Synchronising equipment.

Upgrades and Modifications

• Conduct upgrades to AVRs, PMS systems, Synchronisers, Protection relays, and other control elements.

Testing and Diagnostics

• Carry out electrical testing on high and low voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

• Deliver training on Brush Power Gen products to clients and field service colleagues.

Technical Support and Documentation

• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Attend technical meetings on site and at customers' premises.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments in relation to client sites where needed.

Field Operations

• Assist mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which may not necessarily involve electrical-related activities.
• Operate remotely on own initiative and deal with external stakeholders on site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Accredited Electrical or Electronic qualification or relevant experience.
• Five or more years of experience in electrical power generation and distribution systems.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of networking systems such as Modbus, Ethernet, 61850, and Fibre.
• Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of Health, Safety & Environment.
• Self-reliant, resourceful, and problem-solving mindset with well-developed commercial awareness.
• Effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Ability to work as a good team player and work independently.
