Role Purpose

The GIS developer is responsible for developing ESRI ArcGIS Server 10.3x with design, development, implementation, and support experience of solutions in Web, Mobile and Portal development based on ArcGIS API for HTML5 and JavaScript.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

• Develop ESRI ArcGIS Server 10.3x solutions.
• Design and implement Web, Mobile and Portal development solutions based on ArcGIS API for HTML5 and JavaScript.
• Develop Feature Services, Geocode Services, Geometry Services, Geoprocessing Services, Image Services, KML Services, Mobile Data Services, and OGC Services (WMS, WFS, etc.).
• Develop solutions using AJAX, JavaScript, VB Script, or Python.

Architecture & Technical Design

• Demonstrate knowledge of ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise architecture.
• Apply understanding of service-oriented and cloud technology implementation patterns.
• Implement IT security concepts and patterns within Esri technology.

Collaboration & Communication

• Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Clearly communicate technical ideas to technical peers, non-technical project managers, and customers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in ESRI ArcGIS Development.
• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science/IT, or a related field.
• ESRI Technical Certifications – Developer/Enterprise (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

Esri Technologies

• Esri JavaScript API for Esri ArcGIS Server 10x.
• Esri Portal for ArcGIS/ArcGIS Online.
• Esri ArcObjects.
• Esri ArcGIS Desktop 10x.
• Esri ArcSDE/Oracle 11g/12c geodatabases.
• Esri Services/Map Services.

Programming Languages & Web Technologies

• AJAX, JavaScript, VB Script, or Python.
• HTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, HTML5.
• Dojo framework.
• Git version control.

Platforms & Databases

• Comfort working in Microsoft or Java-based realms.
• Oracle 11g/12c geodatabases.

Geospatial Concepts

• Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in SDLC like Agile Methodology.
• Knowledge of iOS and Android SDK.
• Experience in User Experience (UX) and Testing.
• Development experience in ArcGIS WebADF, Silverlight and FLEX.
• Esri GeoEvent processor development.
• Globe Services, Schematics Services, Stream Services, Cache Services, and Custom Esri Services development.
• Microsoft Visual Studio 2010/2012/2015.
• Microsoft .NET C# (CAML, XML, ASP, VB.NET, etc.).
• .NET Web Services (UDDI, SOAP, REST, WCF, etc.).
• Esri Image Server.
• Oracle Spatial.

Additional Information

• Joining timeframe: 4 weeks maximum 6 weeks.
• Selected candidates will join VAM Systems – Bahrain and be deputed to one of the leading Government Organizations in Bahrain.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
