GIS I&C Specialist

Role Overview

GIS I&C Specialist at Hitachi Energy Ltd, based in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

Enable switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired, and maintained worldwide for PGHV. Represent PG through technical expertise and knowledge during client interactions at installation sites, ensuring all work meets quality standards, deadlines, and cost-performance targets while adhering to QA philosophy and site-specific conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

• Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests.
• Supervise and coordinate loop check activities.
• Ensure installation and commissioning work is executed in perfect technical order.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with installation requirements and accident prevention measures.
• Abide by guidelines for work on live system components.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain red-mark drawings and documents with any changes or modifications necessary during installation.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.
• Prepare PG installation completion documentation.

Material & Logistics

• Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage.
• Coordinate material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers' Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.

Planning & Stakeholder Management

• Advise the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the workforce necessary to comply with schedule.
• Cooperate with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.
• Participate at site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.

General Responsibilities

• Carry out any tasks assigned by management necessary to fulfil job requirements.
• Ensure competent execution of assigned tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience with GIS preferred.
• Previous experience with SF6 gas handling and PGHV transmission and sub-transmission GIS product knowledge preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Professional capability to use MS Project.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English language required.
