GIS I&C Engineer

Role Overview

GIS I&C Engineer at Hitachi Energy Ltd, based in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

To ensure the successful installation, repair, and commissioning of high-voltage GIS switching systems worldwide for PGHV, while maintaining technical excellence, cost-performance standards, and strict adherence to project deadlines and quality assurance philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

• Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests.
• Supervise PG installation completion documentation.
• Ensure responsible and competent execution of all assigned tasks.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with installation requirements and instructions.
• Observe necessary accident prevention measures, specifically guidelines for work on live system components.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain red-mark drawings and documents recording all changes or modifications made during installation.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.
• Cooperate with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.

Workforce & Material Management

• Advise sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of workforce necessary to comply with the schedule.
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage.
• Coordinate material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers' Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.

Site Supervision & Meetings

• Supervise and coordinate loop check activities.
• Participate at site meetings as requested by PG-CH Project Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience with GIS preferred.
• Previous experience with SF6 gas-handling preferred.
• Previous experience with PGHV Transmission and Sub-transmission GIS product knowledge preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Professional capability to use MS Project.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English language required.
