GEOTECHNICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Role Overview

Geotechnical Design Engineer at NMDC Group. The role is responsible for the analysis, design, and assessment of geotechnical structures including foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and ground improvement systems.

Role Purpose

Conduct geotechnical investigations, interpret soil and rock data, prepare design calculations, and provide technical recommendations in compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Evaluation

• Assist Lead Geotechnical Engineer in design and evaluation of tender proposals and project designs.
• Assist with the design of structures using specialized software or calculation.
• Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.
• Review construction design proposals and verify geotechnical aspects.
• Review geotechnical design developed by third party consultants.

Geotechnical Analysis

• Analyse geotechnical data and prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIR).
• Analyse geotechnical findings, perform appropriate calculations and prepare data reports to Manager.
• Analyse soil parameters and assess the stability of structures under normal and seismic conditions.
• Plan and conduct geotechnical investigations effectively.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure correct design in accordance with QA/QC procedures and standards.
• Promote and ensure compliance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies.
• Participate actively in the safety program to achieve a safer working environment.

Stakeholder Management

• Interact with customers and team members to complete assigned projects on time.
• Assist line superiors in the supervision of site and ground investigations.

Additional Duties

• Perform work above and beyond the scope of this role due to operational requirements as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Geotechnical or Geology) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Engineering and Design in related industries.
