Role Purpose

Keep hotel facilities, equipment and systems safe, functional and well maintained to ensure a quality guest experience. Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs

• Carry out routine repairs and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general maintenance works.
• Attend to maintenance requests promptly and ensure repairs are completed safely and to a good standard.
• Follow the preventative maintenance schedule and keep accurate records of completed work.

Inspections & Reporting

• Inspect equipment and facilities, identify faults and report major issues to your supervisor.
• Identify basic faults and carry out appropriate repairs or escalate when required.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all hotel, IHG and local health and safety requirements and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Understand and follow workplace safety procedures and local requirements.

Operations & Support

• Keep tools, equipment and engineering areas clean, safe and organised.
• Support the Engineering team during emergencies, breakdowns and other operational requirements.
• Be flexible and ready to take on additional duties as required by the Engineering team.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Be helpful and professional when interacting with guests, colleagues and contractors.
• Work well with colleagues and communicate professionally with guests and other departments.

Sustainability

• Use hotel resources responsibly and support the hotel's sustainability and Responsible Business initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must meet legal requirements to work in the UAE.
• Previous experience in a similar role within an international hotel environment.
• High school diploma, technical certificate or relevant vocational training is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.
• Able to safely use common hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
• Understands basic maintenance procedures and can follow scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Passionate about hospitality and guest-focused.
• Problem solving ability.
• Professional communication and teamwork.
