General Technician - AC at InterContinental Fujairah Resort

Role Overview

General Technician - AC at InterContinental Fujairah Resort, located on Al Aqah Beach in Fujairah. This role sits within the Engineering team of the InterContinental, a five-star luxury resort with 190 rooms, indoor and outdoor event space, restaurants, and bars.

InterContinental Fujairah Resort is situated on the shoreline of Al Aqah Beach beneath the Hajjar Mountains. The resort operates as an international five-star property with over 30 languages and countries represented by staff, blending Arabian hospitality with luxury travel experiences.

Role Purpose

Maintain, repair, and ensure efficient operation of the resort's air-conditioning and HVAC systems across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Support the Engineering team to deliver comfortable environments and respond to guest maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

Preventive Maintenance & Inspections

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, cleaning, and repairs of AC and HVAC systems.
• Monitor the condition and performance of AC/HVAC equipment and identify potential issues.
• Check refrigerant levels, filters, coils, motors, belts, drains, thermostats, and electrical components.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment condition, and repairs.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Troubleshoot and repair AC systems, including split, package, FCU, AHU, and related equipment.
• Respond promptly to AC and maintenance requests in guest rooms and public areas.
• Follow up on recurring or major issues to ensure resolution.

Team Support & Operations

• Work closely with the Engineering team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Support other technicians with maintenance and repair tasks when required.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow safe handling procedures for refrigerants, tools, and equipment.
• Follow resort standard operating procedures, engineering standards, brand requirements, and safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in hotels in a similar position.
• Technical qualification or certificate in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of AC/HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and general maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic command of spoken and written English.
• Physically able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying temperatures.
