General Practitioner (Experience in Homecare)

Role Overview

General Practitioner with experience in homecare at NMC Royal Hospital.

Role Purpose

Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice, with specific focus on homecare and dialysis patient evaluation, ward coverage, and coordination of clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation and Treatment

• Evaluate homecare and dialysis patients according to clinical standards.
• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients as assigned.
• Assess and reassess inpatients as clinically appropriate.
• Evaluate newly referred patients and assess admission eligibility.
• Review appropriate referrals accepted by the facility.

Ward and Clinical Operations

• Participate in and perform ward rounds.
• Oversee the organization of tests, chase results, and record findings.
• Review results of all investigations and modify treatment in a timely manner.
• Oversee preparation of patients for procedures and outsourced surgeries.
• Provide coverage on a rotational basis including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Documentation and Compliance

• Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely manner.
• Comply with all facility policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, procedures, prescribing, and discharge protocols.
• Adhere to established policies regarding patient confidentiality and informed consent.

Supervision and Collaboration

• Supervise and support newly appointed physicians as determined by the physician in charge.
• Liaise with other outsourced medical specialties and support services for additional input as required.
• Maintain good working relationships with staff members and promote collaboration and a team-based approach to patient care.
• Communicate information to patients and patients' families and friends with appropriate consent in a timely manner.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other clinical responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education meeting DOH/DHA Professional Qualifications Recognition requirements leading to a Medical Practitioner License.
• Minimum 2 years' experience post internship.
• ICU experience.
• Current DOH/DHA license.
• BLS provider certification.
• PALS provider certification.
• ACLS provider certification.

• Experience with both pediatric and adult patients.
• Expertise in basic and advanced airway management.
• Basic ventilator management skills.
• Expert ventilator management skills.
