Role Overview
General Practitioner at Emirates Health Services, Khorfakkan Specialized Dental Center. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing oral health within the center through diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and patient education.
Role Purpose
The General Practitioner will diagnose and treat dental issues, deliver preventive care, and educate patients on oral hygiene. Working collaboratively with specialists, you will ensure comprehensive and patient-centric care, contributing to the center's reputation for excellence in oral health services.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Treatment
- Conduct thorough oral examinations to diagnose dental conditions accurately.
- Provide primary dental treatments, including fillings, extractions, and root canal procedures.
- Manage patient flow efficiently, prioritizing urgent cases as needed to provide timely care.
Preventive Care & Education
- Offer preventive care services, such as dental cleanings and fluoride treatments, to promote oral health.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and encourage healthy habits for long-term dental wellness.
Collaboration & Referral
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary and collaborate closely with the specialist team for holistic care.
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering a cohesive work environment.
Professional Practice
- Maintain detailed and confidential patient records, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in dentistry and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance clinical skills and stay updated with dental advancements.
- Create a safe and comfortable environment for patients during procedures, ensuring their well-being.
Qualifications & Experience
- Medical degree with a specialization in dentistry or a related field.
- Valid license to practice dentistry in the UAE or eligibility to obtain one.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a General Practitioner in a dental setting (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent clinical skills and deep understanding of oral health and its complexities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using dental equipment and technology to provide efficient and effective care.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in patient care and record-keeping.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (highly desirable).
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and passion for staying updated with dental advancements.
