GENERAL ACCOUNTANT

Role Overview

General Accountant at Napco National. The role is based at the company's main location and reports to the Chief General Accountant.

Role Purpose

Monitor daily accounts transactions and tax-related activities to ensure all activities are properly carried out in compliance with tax authority requirements and FCA policy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Management

• Control and maintain the integrity of general accounts in compliance with FCA and standard accounting practices.
• Perform monthly bank and affiliate reconciliations and adjust irregularities.
• Maintain a monthly trial balance audit file to confirm all balances are accurate.

Cash & Treasury Operations

• Check cashier activities when needed for checks and balances.
• Check treasury activities including accounting for money transfers, bank charges and remittances to the company.
• Run accounts payable and payroll checks.
• Assume responsibility for bank deposits.
• Coordinate and arrange processing of all wire transfers and telex payments.
• Ensure integrity of treasury activities before submitting to Chief General Accountant.
• Coordinate with banks for financial activities on Napco National level, including signature updates, addition and removal of users, and account opening.

Tax & Compliance

• Monitor implementation of tax regulations and procedures imposed by the government throughout all company departments.
• Keep abreast of new decrees associated with tax declarations and computation.
• Filter payments and validate their accuracy to periodically fill required tax and VAT forms as imposed by tax authorities.
• Relay validated payments to Accounting Manager for approval.
• Develop and update statutory and fiscal reports for government tax controller use and monthly sales reporting.

Internal Controls & Audit

• Conduct audits to ensure internal control procedures are well implemented.
• Recommend and follow up on corrective measures.

Administrative & Coordination

• Compute and submit to Chief General Accountant required data related to own scope for inclusion in annual budget.
• Ensure proper filing and follow up on all subsidy applications and refunds.

Qualifications & Experience

• BA or equivalent degree.
• 2–3 years' experience in an accounting role.
