Role Overview
Garment Technologist - Kidswear at Apparel Group.
Role Purpose
Oversee the technical development and quality assurance of kidswear products from design conception through production, ensuring all garments meet fit, safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development
- Develop and approve tech packs and spec sheets in collaboration with design and buying teams.
- Conduct and manage fit sessions, ensuring garments meet fit and measurement standards.
- Provide clear feedback on samples to vendors regarding construction, finishing, and fit improvements.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure garments comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards including AQL, REACH, and CPSIA.
- Review and approve fabric tests, lab reports, and wash care labels.
- Work with the QA team to define inspection criteria and monitor bulk production quality.
Supplier & Production Management
- Collaborate with suppliers and factories to troubleshoot production issues and ensure feasibility.
- Participate in vendor evaluations and capability assessments as needed.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate documentation of sample comments, approvals, and development timelines.
