Role Overview

Position: Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor of Geology. American International University Kuwait is recruiting for the Department of Geology faculty positions, based in Kuwait.

Role Purpose

To provide expert instruction in geology and earth sciences, conduct research, and contribute to the academic mission of the institution through teaching, scholarship, and service.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching

• Deliver lectures and conduct laboratory courses in geology and earth sciences disciplines.
• Develop and refine course curriculum and instructional materials.
• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback to students.

Research & Scholarship

• Conduct geological research and scholarly activities aligned with academic rank and institutional expectations.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and other outlets.
• Pursue external research funding and grants where applicable.

Department & Institutional Service

• Participate actively in department meetings and committee work.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career pathways.
• Contribute to departmental governance and curriculum development.
• Support the university's academic vision and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. in Geology or a related earth sciences discipline.
• Evidence of scholarly achievement and research productivity appropriate to the rank (full, associate, or assistant professor).
• Teaching experience in geology or earth sciences at the university level.

Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in geology and earth sciences.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage students and foster a collaborative learning environment.
