Role Purpose

Forward Deployed Software Engineers work directly with customers to understand their greatest challenges and design and implement solutions using data to drive real-world impact. You own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects in small teams with minimal supervision, functioning as a technical leader responsible for strategy, architecture, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Problem Understanding & Strategy

• Work directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems and highest-priority questions.
• Unpack problems and understand the costs and consequences of proposed solutions.
• Establish strategy for your team.

Technical Design & Architecture

• Design solutions to use data against identified customer problems.
• Discuss architecture with fellow engineers.
• Develop custom approaches and, where needed, develop new technologies and languages.

Implementation & Execution

• Implement solutions end-to-end across high-stakes projects.
• Wrangle massive-scale data.
• Code custom web applications.
• Own execution with minimal supervision.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Speak with customer executives.
• Partner with customers who rely on Palantir's platforms for critical operations.
