Role Purpose
To supervise and coordinate daily marine construction activities, lead site crews and subcontractors, and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of marine works including piling, jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, pontoons, and dredging projects.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Crew Management
- Lead and manage site crews, subcontractors, operators, and marine workforce to ensure safe and efficient execution of works.
- Supervise and coordinate daily marine construction activities, including piling, jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, pontoons, dredging, and related marine works.
- Experience supervising multicultural workforces and subcontractors.
Planning and Operations
- Assist in planning marine operations while ensuring environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure proper utilization of marine equipment, barges, boats, cranes, and construction resources.
- Ensure materials, manpower, and equipment are available to support planned construction activities.
Progress and Quality Management
- Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed according to project schedules, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Inspect completed works and report progress, productivity, and site challenges to the project team.
Coordination and Communication
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Project Engineers, Marine Superintendents, and other stakeholders to resolve site issues.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce compliance with HSE requirements and company safety procedures.
- Strong knowledge of marine construction methods, equipment, and safety requirements.
Documentation and Records
- Maintain site records, daily reports, and work permits as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Technical Qualification in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in marine construction projects.
- Proven experience in marine works such as jetties, quay walls, breakwaters, pontoons, piling, dredging, and coastal protection projects.
- Experience supervising multicultural workforces and subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction plans.
- Familiarity with UAE construction practices and marine regulations is preferred.
