Role Overview
Maintenance Foreman at Alfanar Building Systems. This is a field-based role on an active construction site responsible for leading maintenance operations, generator fleet management, heavy equipment support, and crew supervision.
Role Purpose
Lead hands-on maintenance operations across an active construction site, overseeing generator fleets, heavy equipment, and maintenance crews to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and maintain consistent operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Generator & Equipment Management
- Oversee the generator fleet including FG Wilson, Caterpillar, and similar brands for servicing and troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate fuel logs across generators, tower lights, and site vehicles.
- Manage maintenance and breakdown support for heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and JCBs.
- Support maintenance of road sweepers (Scarab or similar) and air compressors.
- Coordinate with equipment operators and suppliers as required.
Technical Troubleshooting
- Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance across all equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment failures.
Crew Supervision & Operations
- Supervise day and night shift maintenance crews.
- Assign daily priorities and ensure work is completed to consistent standards.
- Maintain maintenance logbooks and track meter hours.
- Manage spare parts inventory.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all repair work is carried out in accordance with site safety procedures, including permit-to-work and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and suppliers on equipment-related matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trade certificate or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or diesel/heavy equipment maintenance.
- Diploma degree in Mechanical Institute or Electrical Institute.
- 5 to 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience in construction, heavy plant, or industrial environments.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of diesel generator systems (FG Wilson, Caterpillar, or similar) and preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience with pumps and air compressors.
- Exposure to major equipment brands (CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, JCB, or similar) is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of permit-to-work (PTW) and lockout/tagout procedures, and general site safety practices.
Skills & Competencies
- Mechanical diagnostics systems.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and collision repairs.
- Proficiency in maintaining organized maintenance and inventory records (Excel).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
- Willingness to work day and night shift rotations.
- Valid Saudi driving license preferred.
- Transferable iqama required for expatriate candidates.
