Role Overview

Fitter at Al Ghurair. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and cutting aluminum panels and components for vacuum elevator systems according to detailed engineering drawings and production specifications.

Role Purpose

To fabricate, assemble, cut, and install aluminum panels and components with precision and accuracy while maintaining strict quality standards, safety compliance, and cost-effective production practices.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Cutting Operations

• Perform accurate cutting of aluminum profiles and rings for vacuum elevator components in accordance with engineering drawings and production specifications.
• Fabricate, assemble, cut, fix, and install aluminum panels according to detailed drawings and project specifications.
• Ensure precise cutting and notching operations that meet quality standards and specified tolerances.
• Operate tools and machines including Plasma, CNC, and Water jet equipment.

Quality Control & Inspection

• Read and interpret technical drawings to ensure correct dimensions, tolerances, and cutting requirements before production.
• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings and quality requirements.
• Check and control the quality and accuracy of finished panels and products.
• Identify, reassemble, and replace faulty and defective parts.

Material Management

• Select, inspect, and prepare the correct materials for cutting, notching, and fabrication processes while minimizing waste.
• Optimize material usage to reduce scrap, improve yield, and support cost-effective production.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through efficient material handling, process improvement, and waste minimization.

Production & Scheduling

• Complete assigned production tasks within planned schedules while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine machine inspections, basic preventive maintenance, and promptly report equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Safety & Compliance

• Strictly adhere to all safety procedures, use appropriate PPE, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Follow applicable HSE rules and regulations implemented in the organization.
• Communicate workplace hazards with direct supervisors.
• Be aware of emergency preparedness and emergency procedures.
• Always use required PPE for the job.

Team Collaboration & Support

• Supervise Assistant Fitters and Helpers in the factory.
• Work effectively with supervisors, production teams, quality personnel, and other departments to achieve operational objectives.
• Be willing to work in any shift and support other departments whenever required to meet business and operational needs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in fitting trade.
• Secondary School Certificate.
• Apprenticeship in similar industry.
