Role Purpose
To assemble, install, align, and fit mechanical components, pipes, structures, and equipment on construction and industrial projects according to engineering specifications and drawings, while maintaining quality standards and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly and Installation
- Assemble, install, align, and fit mechanical components, pipes, structures, and equipment as per drawings and specifications.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and positioning of components during installation.
Fabrication and Preparation
- Perform fabrication, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting activities on construction and industrial projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
Technical Interpretation
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical sketches, and work instructions.
Maintenance and Repair
- Carry out maintenance, repair, and replacement of mechanical parts and equipment.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
Communication and Coordination
- Report equipment defects, material shortages, and technical issues to supervisors.
- Coordinate with welders, fabricators, mechanics, and other trades to complete work efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School certificate, ITI, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Fitting trade.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Fitter in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or oil and gas projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication details.
- Experience with mechanical installation, fabrication, and maintenance works.
- Familiarity with tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment.
- Good knowledge of safety procedures and site practices.
