Role Overview
Fishing Tool Supervisor at Weatherford UAE. This is a senior-level field operations role supporting fishing and well re-entry operations.
Role Purpose
Support fishing and well re-entry operations in the field by operating a wide variety of fishing and re-entry equipment, proactively advising clients during open-hole and cased-hole operations, workovers, slot recoveries, and abandonment projects, and executing field operations in accordance with operational plans while ensuring deliveries meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Operate and maintain Fishing and Re-entry equipment in the field.
- Assist in testing and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Client Support & Communication
- Provide onsite support to customer during ongoing field operations.
- Work hand in hand with the onshore operations team.
- Ensure work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete daily reporting of field operations for ongoing Fishing and Re-entry operations.
- Accurate and thorough completion of job reports in a timely basis.
Performance & Improvement
- Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality to increase efficiency.
- Perform basic problem solving and troubleshooting when needed.
- Adapt to changing work environment and conditions.
Compliance & Development
- Participate in all client and Weatherford safety systems during ongoing operations as required.
- Understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Continue training to expand knowledge and experience of Fishing and Re-entry operations and services.
- Support onshore maintenance activities if required.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10–15+ years drilling, fishing and whipstock experience.
- High School diploma or Secondary School diploma or equivalent as minimum; 2 years college degree preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- General knowledge of oilfield equipment.
- Mechanical ability necessary to perform repairs.
- Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel computer skills.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently when required.
- Strong team player who collaborates closely with colleagues.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Open Hole and Cased Hole knowledge preferred.
Additional Information
- Valid Driver license required.
- Must be able to perform basic problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Required to work on 24-hour call status.
- Ability to be on-call 24/7.
