Role Overview

Fire Life Safety Officer at IHG Hotels and Resorts.

Role Purpose

Monitor, enforce, and maintain fire safety standards across the hotel in compliance with local regulations and hotel policies. Conduct inspections, train employees, investigate incidents, and coordinate with fire authorities to ensure all life safety systems remain operational and staff are prepared for emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Systems & Equipment

• Monitor and enforce fire safety standards in accordance with local regulations and hotel policies.
• Conduct regular inspections of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems including fire alarms, smoke fans, sprinklers, and extinguishers.
• Ensure all fire equipment is maintained, tested, and fully operational at all times.

Training & Emergency Preparedness

• Train employees on fire safety procedures, emergency response, and proper use of firefighting equipment.
• Assist in developing and updating emergency response plans.

Incident Management & Compliance

• Investigate fire incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with local fire authorities and AMC providers to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Maintain fire safety documentation, logs, and certification records.

Hazard Prevention

• Identify potential fire hazards and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, or related field.
• Certification in Fire Safety or Firefighting (mandatory as per local regulations).
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fire safety, preferably in hospitality or large facilities.
