Role Purpose
The Finance Officer manages all financial operations, collections, and budget monitoring for the school. The role ensures timely fee collection, maintains accurate financial records, coordinates with headquarters on payments and procurement, and supports department heads and leadership with financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Fee Collection & Payment Management
- Respond to parents' requirements and inquiries as they relate to finance or admissions.
- Manage the collection of tuition fees and late payments.
- Follow up late payments and returned cheques.
- Work with the Examinations Officer regarding all external exams and manage the collection of examination fees.
- Manage transport invoices by collecting all information, preparing quick receipts for self-fund trips, and liaising with HQ for payment.
Cash & Banking Operations
- Manage petty cash including reconciliation and replenishment.
- Prepare bank collection report and undertake cheques scanning.
Procurement & Inventory
- Manage stationery requests from staff, order stationery, follow up orders, and manage stationery supplies.
- Manage exercise book, textbook, and library book orders.
- Manage student planner and year book orders.
- Manage recommendation reports and liaise with HQ for raising LPO.
Budget & Financial Reporting
- Monitor department budgets and prepare monthly income and expenditure statements and updates for department heads, budget holders, and principal, including petty cash and reprographic analysis.
- Manage self-fund budgets.
- Manage the reprographic analysis and update each Head of Department of their spending.
Activities & Collections
- Manage the trips and activities collections, students lists, and all related information, and send them to HQ for payment.
- Manage the charities from different activities and send them to Red Crescent or specified destination.
Compliance & Development
- Comply with the requirements of health and safety, other relevant legislation, and school policies.
- Attend any necessary training associated with the duties of the post.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role in the region.
- Customer service experience is required.
- Experience in the Education sector is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work well in a multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent office management skills and computer literacy.
