Role Overview

Field Support Technician I with Nabors. A skilled Caterpillar mechanic position requiring hands-on experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Caterpillar heavy equipment.

Role Purpose

Maintain optimal performance of Caterpillar machinery through skilled diagnosis, repair, and testing. Ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and accurate documentation while supporting operations and maintenance teams in the oil field sector.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

• Rebuild CAT3512 engines with full technical knowledge and capability.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using Caterpillar diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and component replacements to restore equipment functionality.

Inspection & Testing

• Carry out thorough inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols and company policies during repair and maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for compliance and reporting.

Collaboration

• Work closely with operations and maintenance teams.
• Provide technical support and training to junior mechanics when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Caterpillar Engine Technician.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, specifically with Caterpillar machinery.
• Two years relevant experience in the oil field sector, or a technical diploma if oil field experience is absent.
• Strong knowledge of Caterpillar diagnostic software such as CAT ET.
• Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Mechanic or Electrician diploma (preferred).
• Technical certification in heavy equipment mechanics (preferred).
