Role Overview
Field Specialist I - Thru Tubing Services at Weatherford UAE. The position is based in the field, supporting well intervention operations at customer locations.
Role Purpose
The Thru Tubing Field Specialist I is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of Thru Tubing well intervention operations at customer locations. The role supports equipment preparation, field execution, operational reporting, and customer engagement while ensuring full compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and QHSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Execution
- Execute Thru Tubing operations in accordance with approved procedures and customer requirements.
- Perform fishing, milling, cleanout, cutting, and other well intervention activities.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior field personnel.
Equipment & Preparation
- Prepare, inspect, test, and mobilize equipment and Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHAs).
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot routine issues, and report operational abnormalities.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all QHSE, regulatory, and company standards.
- Promote safe work practices, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Reporting & Communication
- Complete operational reports, service tickets, and required system documentation.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, field crews, and support teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Petroleum Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Thru Tubing Well Intervention operations in Rig Sites.
- Hands-on experience with fishing, milling, cleanout, and cutting operations.
- Experience in onshore and/or offshore oilfield environments.
- Experience with Coiled Tubing conveyed interventions; Drill Pipe experience is an advantage.
- Relevant Well Intervention, Coiled Tubing, Thru Tubing, or Oilfield Service certifications preferred.
- Strong commitment to HSE standards and safe working practices.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of Thru Tubing and Well Intervention operations.
- Working knowledge of Coiled Tubing operations and BHA assembly.
- Understanding of hydraulic parameters, motor performance, and wellbore intervention techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational and equipment-related issues.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in operational reporting and documentation systems.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Additional Information
- Ability to travel extensively up to 75% and work in field-based environments.
