Role Purpose

The Field Engineer applies conceptual knowledge and field experience to solve straightforward field and yard-related issues, analyzing possible solutions using company standard procedures and processes. The role requires moderate guidance from colleagues and leadership, and applies technical expertise, judgment, and precedents to solve problems while ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment policies.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all work is carried out safely in compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures.

Field Preparation & Planning

• Develop vessel layout and barge loadout plans for the transportation of materials, equipment, and structures to offshore sites to facilitate safe and timely installation.
• Prepare offshore installation procedures per company procedures and processes, outlining methods, techniques, practices, sequences, installation aids, temporary works, and consumables required.
• Prepare material lists covering construction materials and project consumables and liaise with the project coordinator for procurement.
• Issue Loadout Lists applicable to the work based on recommended practice.
• Conduct work scope presentations to offshore key personnel explaining the planning and execution of work including contractual and technical aspects.
• Issue field sketches, data sheets, and checklists in the field as required for information purposes to offshore personnel.

Technical Review & Analysis

• Recommend changes in technical details and drawings where these may result in safe operations and clarity on information in installation procedures.
• Review and retain project drawings and documents; report discrepancies, errors, and omissions concerning information required to perform the work.
• Ensure the work is within the capabilities of the proposed equipment.

Project Engagement & Participation

• Actively participate in project Constructability sessions, Readiness reviews, Hazard Identification studies, and Job Safety Analysis as applicable and communicate to implement the recommendations.
• Coordinate with Marine, E&M, Welding, Quality, HSES, Survey & ROV, Diving Departments, and Subcontractors per offshore scope execution requirements to ensure necessary equipment and personnel are available and ready for deployment.
• Coordinate with Production Engineers and verify loadouts of fabricated items for the project.

Inspection & Verification

• Witness and inspect pre-rigging, loadouts, and sea fastening.
• Acknowledge receipt of fabricated structures, line pipes, and other materials to be installed offshore.
• Develop checklists and inspect loadouts per company procedures.

Logistics & Site Coordination

• Coordinate with the logistics team for inputs on materials, structures, and equipment loaded out for cargo movements from one location to another by ship, barge, trucks, or other means.
• Liaise with customer representatives and various subcontractor representatives at the offshore site and with the Operations Engineer.
• Monitor the progress of work and site conditions and advise the Operations Engineer of any developments that may result in changes to the project, schedule, or execution sequence.

Problem-Solving & Reporting

• Participate in the resolution of any technical problems arising during offshore installation and assist in the formulation of corrective action requirements.
• Prepare Post Job Completion Reports per company procedures.
• Prepare and collate as-built documentation and records as required by contract requirements and approved project scope of work.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• 3-5 years of offshore installation experience.
• Adequate knowledge of design and offshore project execution.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge in AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• 3D software experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Additional Information

• Willingness to travel offshore for job execution, including readiness to be at onshore sites as required.
• Willingness to travel to different job sites and work in various environmental conditions as required.
