Role Overview

Feeder/Cleaner at Groomy Pet, a division of United Al Saqer Group, located in Abu Dhabi. This is an experienced dog feeder and handler role within a veterinary practice that combines daycare, grooming, and retail services.

Comprehensive services include haircuts, deshedding, paw pad shaves, sanitary trims, eye and ear cleaning, and precise nail trimming. The facility is committed to providing a calm and stress-free atmosphere to ensure pets have a positive grooming experience and helps pets look and feel their best.

Role Purpose

Oversee the daycare and boarding unit, maintain facility cleanliness, provide instruction and care to animals, condition them, determine their receptiveness to training, and monitor their wellbeing while at the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance & Hygiene

• Maintain cleanliness of all different areas in the facility under the guidance of handlers, nurses, and veterinarians.
• Clean the boarding area at least three times a day, including rooms, habitats, and sleeping areas.
• Familiarize animals with human voices and contact during day shift and night shift operations.

Animal Care & Monitoring

• Monitor animals' wellbeing while in the facility during daycare and boarding.
• Feed and medicate animals, including administering oral medication under the guidelines of the treating veterinarian.
• Provide general care to animals, such as grooming in case they get dirty within the boarding.

Animal Behavior & Training

• Use positive reinforcement and other techniques to elicit desired animal behavior.

Communication & Coordination

• Provide updates to other parties about the progress and condition of the animals.
• Work closely with all colleagues and nurture a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

Additional Support

• Provide support to the rest of the team in other areas when needed, including retail, clinic, physiotherapy, daycare, and pet taxi.

Skills & Competencies

• Enthusiasm for small animals.
• Experience handling and caring for dogs.
• Ability to use positive reinforcement techniques.
