Role Purpose
The F&B Hostess creates a welcoming first impression for guests by greeting them, managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth flow of restaurant operations. The role requires excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
- Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Inform guests of menu specials, promotions, and estimated waiting times.
- Handle guest complaints or special requests courteously and escalate when necessary.
- Ensure VIP guests and special occasions receive appropriate attention.
Reservations & Seating Operations
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments.
- Coordinate with servers and restaurant managers to optimize seating.
- Monitor table turnover and seating availability.
Front-of-House Management
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries professionally.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception/hostess station.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold company service standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurants, or customer service is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional grooming and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and reservation system knowledge.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
