Role Purpose

Manage engineering, inspection, and surveyor teams while running all engineering activities within the organization. Utilize best practice engineering methods and provide expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives. Ensure all activities are aligned with established policies and objectives while maintaining compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, V2X Safety Procedures, and ASG-KU Standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Oversee and mentor staff across engineering, inspection, and surveyor teams.
• Direct and manage engineering teams while managing engineering, inspection, and surveyor teams.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering, inspectors, and surveyors' teams.
• Liaise with a variety of stakeholders.

Inspection & Compliance

• Direct and manage inspections for construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, operational safety standards, and customer requirements.
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications.
• Ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, V2X Safety Procedures, and ASG-KU Standards.

Technical Review & Guidance

• Review detailed designs.
• Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems or deficiencies.
• Perform analysis for the approval or disapproval in writing of submittals and materials.
• Follow up with the relevant department to reach correction of deficiencies found when disapproval occurs.
• Generate Statements of Work and review Subcontractor Technical Proposals for accuracy and acceptance.

Documentation & Reporting

• Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits and safety, and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required.
• Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential civil studies and projects.
• Provide high level analytical and research skills translated and clearly expressed in written documents ranging from correspondence, statements of work, white papers, and contribution to policy development.

Planning & Project Support

• Support establishment of organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies.
• Devise new approaches to problems.
• Assess potential risks of specific projects and undertake risk management in specialist roles.
• Assist and confer with engineers, customers, and others in developing programs for new projects or planning existing major repair projects.

Site Activities

• Direct and/or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.

General Responsibilities

• Implement best practice engineering methods.
• Work special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience relating to engineering managerial experience.
• Five years specialized experience operating managerial activities.
• Ability to demonstrate and provide leadership and collaboration in diverse experiences to address operational methodologies in project planning and management and customer service.
• PMP Certification.
• Must possess a driver's license from country of origin for the purpose of obtaining a Military or Kuwait driver's license.

• Knowledge of building mechanical codes, local Host Nation Codes, and International Building Code (IBC).
• Ability to research UFC, US Army, or other codes from standards as required by projects.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements

• Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects and small parts, operation of machines including inspection, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions

• Activities occur both inside and outside.
• Exposure to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
• Exposure to vibration from oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
• Sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
