Equipment Maintenance Mechanic

Role Overview

Equipment Maintenance Mechanic at Etihad Raid, responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of on-track and off-track equipment and vehicles.

Role Purpose

Maintain equipment including tampers, dynamic stabilizers, ballast distribution systems, ballast regulators, sand removal machines, mobile flash butt welding machines, civil construction machinery, and light and heavy road vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's manuals and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Compliance

• Prioritize safety for themselves, their team members, and business customers at all times.
• Learn and comply with relevant department procedures and safe systems of work.

Maintenance & Operations

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on all vehicles and related equipment.
• Minimize equipment downtime and delays to production.
• Work on site and in the workshop or depot.
• Work under instruction of the Equipment Foreman.

Fault Management & Communication

• Proactively ensure information regarding plant faults is communicated to line manager.
• Assess equipment reoccurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to the foreman.

Availability

• Be prepared and willing to support business activities outside of normal working hours for breakdown response purposes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Formal mechanical or electrical technical qualifications.
• Recognized capability to maintain on-track and off-track vehicles and equipment.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostic processes.
• 12/24v electric circuit diagnostics.
• Troubleshooting capabilities applied to hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of PLC boards and electrical drawings.
• Full driving license for cars and heavy goods vehicles.
