Role Purpose
The Environmental Specialist analyzes environmental aspects of infrastructure projects, prepares documentation for environmental permits and approvals, identifies potential impacts and mitigation measures, and ensures compliance with applicable environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Analysis & Assessment
- Analyze environmental aspects associated with infrastructure projects under development.
- Identify potential environmental impacts and propose prevention, mitigation or compensation measures.
- Participate in the assessment of technical solutions from an environmental protection perspective.
Documentation & Permitting
- Participate in the preparation of documentation required for obtaining environmental permits, approvals and authorizations.
- Prepare or contribute to the development of project presentation reports, technical documentation for environmental permitting procedures, specialized environmental studies, and environmental sections of technical design documentation.
- Prepare documentation for submission to relevant authorities.
- Respond to requests for clarifications and additional information issued by authorities.
- Follow up on the status of environmental permits and approvals.
Technical Support & Design
- Provide technical support to design teams regarding applicable environmental requirements.
- Participate in site visits and field surveys to collect information required for the preparation of environmental documentation.
Stakeholder & Authority Coordination
- Cooperate with environmental experts, consultants and competent authorities.
- Participate in meetings and technical sessions with clients and permitting authorities.
Compliance & Monitoring
- Monitor compliance with the conditions established by permits, approvals and other regulatory documents issued by competent authorities.
- Monitor legislative changes in the field of environmental protection.
- Inform management and project teams about applicable legal requirements and obligations.
- Propose compliance measures and internal process improvements.
Reporting & Documentation Management
- Prepare technical reports and activity updates related to assigned projects.
- Ensure the proper recording, filing and archiving of environmental documentation.
- Provide information, data and technical input required by management and clients.
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar position.
- English language proficiency.
