Role Overview
Engineer, Safety (Coiled Tubing) at ADNOC. Based in an operational pressure pumping environment.
Role Purpose
Support the Team Leader in managing the Health, Safety, Environment and Asset Integrity systems for Pressure Pumping operations. Provide safety, asset integrity and environmental advice to operations personnel, implement and monitor safety procedures, deliver training programs, audit working practices, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Programs & Hazard Management
- Assist in formulation and development of safety programs for Pressure Pumping operations including hazard identification programs, pinch point audits, DROPS programs, and working at heights plans.
- Ensure availability of relevant manuals, hazardous area instructions, safety materials, safety publications, campaigns and technical posters.
- Bring to the attention of relevant teams any unsafe working practices and work sites.
- Recommend improvements to unsafe working areas and procedures.
Training & Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct safety orientation briefing for all incoming and departing personnel.
- Brief all arriving personnel on actions required during Pressure Pumping operations emergencies.
- Ensure familiarity with muster station and emergency procedures.
- Conduct training sessions in safety principles and practices, including supervision of practical exercises.
- Develop and coordinate orientation programs aimed at promoting accident prevention among personnel.
- Participate in specific emergency drills for Pressure Pumping operations personnel.
- Inform Leadership of program effectiveness.
Safety Equipment & Asset Integrity
- Function as Lifting specialist on assigned locations.
- Ensure all life-saving appliances, safety equipment and facilities are kept in best working condition by assisting in preventive maintenance programs and associated procedures.
- Carry out regular audits of all safety equipment to ensure permanent ready-to-use state.
- Set up efficient record-keeping systems and equipment.
- Recommend to concerned Supervisor replacement or repair of faulty equipment.
Incident Investigation & Advisory
- Investigate all matters relating to Safety, Asset Integrity and Environmental incidents or accidents.
- Advise Pressure Pumping operations management and immediate supervisor on all incidents and accidents.
- Prepare appropriate recommendations to prevent recurrence in the future.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as occupational health, environmental health, biology, chemistry, or engineering.
- Minimum 6 years' varied experience in HSE.
- At least 3 continuous years within an oil and gas industry environment.
