Role Overview
Engineer, QA / QC Civil at alfanar, based in Saudi Arabia. This position performs project civil Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities efficiently, in a timely manner and to quality standards as per defined policies and procedures to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.

Role Purpose
To perform project civil Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities efficiently and in a timely manner according to defined quality standards, policies, and procedures in order to achieve departmental operational plans and developments.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System & Planning
- Implement Quality Management System and project quality inspection activities with coordination to Client, Consultant, and vendor inspections.
- Maintain system manuals, international and national standards, client specifications, technical data sheets, handbooks, product-range and component catalogues, copies of ITP, and all relevant inspection documents.
- Verify and assure accreditation, certifications, approvals, and profiles of vendors, external, third party, or independent agencies.
- Maintain quality records including logbook of work performed, QA/QC Weekly report, Internal inspection report, and Non-Conformance report (NCR).
- Prepare quality-related documents including ITP, Method of Statement (MOS), Checklist, PQI, and QA/QC weekly report.
- Implement the Alfanar Lesson Learnt Programme to reduce punch points that would appear during project handover.
- Ensure and act for Customer Satisfaction.
Monitoring & Inspections
- Ensure works are carried out as per Project Technical Specification (PTS), IFC drawing, and approved method statement.
- Ensure work is correctly prepared prior to any inspection.
- Confirm that works are properly inspected at required stages as stated in ITP or as required by client.
- Ensure all material and equipment to be purchased and incorporated into the permanent installation comply with contract, plan, PTS, and standard.
- Ensure required tests are performed and verify compliance against requirements.
- Conduct site installation inspection, material receiving inspection, and report to the concerned authority.
- Control and monitor inspection and test requirements and data with respect to project PTS.
- Assure maintenance and calibration of inspection testing equipment.
- Carry out inspections and testing as per plan.
- Prepare checklists and RFIs of all work for Consultant approval and inspections.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with Execution Team, Project Management, Client, and Consultant on QC-related matters.
- Coordinate with independent testing laboratory for material testing, follow up on test reports, and submit to consultant.
- Report quality matters to TQM Department.
- Report quality-related matters to Project Manager to enable necessary action and to TQM Manager for information.
- Obtain, verify, and maintain quality records in a traceable, easily retrievable, and safe manner.
- Maintain proper log for QC documents.
- Verify test results, report findings, and provide recommendations to Project Manager for necessary actions.
Leadership & Team Development
- Train subordinates and form a team to achieve work effectively.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
- Delegate assignments to subordinates in their respective areas.
- Ensure fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation of subordinates.
Delivery & Performance
- Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide periodic reports detailing deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving & Compliance
- Resolve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or related activities.
- Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Process Improvement & Safety
- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products and services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of work experience.
