ENGINEER, PROJECT CONTROL

Role Overview

Engineer, Project Control at Alfanar. The role is based in Saudi Arabia within DAR Engineering, a leading design and engineering consulting organization engaged in Power Generation, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Health Care, and High Rise Buildings.

Role Purpose

Oversee and manage costs associated with projects to ensure they stay within the allocated budget and financial guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Project Cost Estimation & Budgeting

• Create project cost structures and breakdowns (tender budget) on SAP to ensure the implementation of cost control procedures.
• Analyze project requirements and prepare detailed estimates to complete.
• Reconcile and analyze project budget revisions closely with the finance department in a consultancy role for verification of estimates (actual cost, plan POC, actual POC, etc.).

Cost Monitoring & Control

• Monitor and track project costs to ensure they align with the budget.
• Identify and report potential cost overruns in a timely manner using forecasting tools to anticipate future expenditures.
• Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize project profitability.

Forecasting & Financial Reporting

• Create and maintain updated detailed project cashflows and forecast reports based on trend analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyze project cost reports and establish reporting frequency on a project-to-project basis with stakeholders based on the criticality of deliverables on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Dashboards & Reporting

• Coordinate with other departments for the accuracy and development of dashboard reports.

Delivery & Execution

• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide periodic reports formatted with details of deviation and execution of planned tasks.

Problem-Solving & Escalation

• Solve related problems that arise and escalate any complex operational issues.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
• Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products and services.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.
• 4 to 6 years of experience.
