Role Purpose

The role exists to support the maintenance, technical development, and optimization of critical systems across ADNOC's operations, including Telecommunication and Telemetry, ICS and DCS, Process Control Systems, and Real-Time Plant Information and Laboratory Management Systems, while ensuring safe and reliable operation in compliance with Company and International standards.

Key Responsibilities

System Maintenance Support

• Assess existing systems on obsolescence, spare parts availability, vendor support, interoperability, and integration to ensure safe and reliable operation conforming to Company and International standards.
• Audit system performance and identify opportunities for process performance monitoring and improvements to ensure conformance to applicable standards.

Technical Support

• Develop and update technical specification documents and conduct economic feasibility studies to evaluate financial and technical viability of applications.
• Develop system functional specifications, design and as-built documentation, user manuals, and training materials for minor modifications in existing applications.
• Coordinate with site maintenance personnel for development of vendor support, modifications, and upgrades.
• Provide technical and engineering expertise to plants in Real-Time Process Information Management Systems and Laboratory Information Management Systems.
• Provide operational, technical, and engineering expertise in Optimization, Alarm Management, Control Loop Performance Monitoring, and higher-level MES applications.

Contracts & Technical Bid Evaluation

• Develop scope of work and tender documents; participate in technical bid evaluation to meet systems requirements per Company standards and specifications.
• Coordinate and participate in implementation of approved projects, including installation, commissioning, and future upgrades to ensure timely completion within budget.

Supervision

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable proficiency and delivery of section objectives.

Budgets

• Provide input for preparation of department budgets and assist in implementation of approved budgets and work plans to deliver section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Implement approved section policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures to support execution of the section's work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management

• Contribute to achievement of approved Performance Objectives for the section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reporting

• Provide inputs to prepare section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Controls, or Automation).
• 4 years of experience in design, installation, commissioning, operations, continuing maintenance, testing, and CS validation philosophies relating to automation systems within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
