Role Overview
Engineer Planning at alfanar Building Systems. The Planning Engineer supports large-scale real estate development projects by owning day-to-day scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting cycles across multiple concurrent projects.
Role Purpose
The Planning Engineer works closely with site teams, project managers, and client-side planners to ensure schedules remain accurate, credible, and actionable throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule Development & Baseline Management
- Develop, structure, and maintain detailed project schedules in Primavera P6 covering civil, MEP, finishing, mobilization, and handover activities.
- Build and validate the Work Breakdown Structure, activity logic, durations, dependencies, and baseline revisions.
- Manage change control for baseline revisions and ensure approved schedules remain aligned with project execution strategy.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Collect, verify, and update site progress data on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
- Prepare S-curves, look-ahead schedules, manpower and resource histograms, progress reports, and management dashboards.
- Perform schedule variance analysis, identify critical path shifts and delay causes, and recommend recovery actions.
Earned Value & Coordination
- Track performance using Earned Value Management including SPI, CPI, and forecast-at-completion trends.
- Coordinate with cost control to support cost and schedule integration and a single source of truth for project status.
- Participate in progress meetings, follow up on actions, and align reporting formats with client and consultant requirements.
Delivery & Execution
- Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
- Provide periodic reports detailing deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving & Escalation
- Solve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
- Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products and services.

- Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures and seek automation opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in related role.
- 2 to 5 years of additional relevant experience.
