Role Overview
Engineer - Mechanical / Advanced NDT Inspector at Seatrium, based across multiple global locations including offshore sites, shipyards, ports, and workshop facilities.
Role Purpose
Deliver field service support and technical expertise for offshore equipment, conducting non-destructive testing inspections, servicing mechanical systems, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and compliance standards across diverse work environments.
Key Responsibilities
Field Service Delivery
- Deliver desired customer service and support.
- Perform service activities according to company policies and safety standards in offshore, shipyards, ports, workshop facilities and any other locations.
- Provide 24/7 on-call emergency services as required and engage Service Technicians to provide company services remotely.
- Maximize customer retention and increase profitability by reducing wastage.
Technical Inspection & Troubleshooting
- Conduct NDT inspection of mechanical parts on jacking systems in accordance with procedures and drawings.
- Perform equipment inspections and provide technical evaluations and solutions.
- Investigate and troubleshoot product service issues.
- Service and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Commissioning & Installation
- Commission OTD systems, including installation, testing, and presenting systems to owners, surveyors, and QA.
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete paperwork timely and accurately, including field service reports, timecards, and expense reports.
- Compile ad-hoc reports as required on a project basis.
- Maintain and develop project documentation and reports.
- Communicate project status to managers and department heads.
Safety & Compliance
- Be fully responsible for health, safety, and environment (HSE) and work instructions while on site.
- Promote an active safety environment and facilitate investigation of safety incidents.
- Fully comply and adhere to company policies, procedures, memorandums, instructions, and regional circulars.
Scheduling & Asset Management
- Ensure completion of assigned tasks in accordance with plans and schedules.
- Track company assets on sites and assure they are maintained as per agreement with contractors or engaged parties.
Reporting Structure
- Report directly to the Field Service Manager or delegate during absence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent with experience support.
- Minimum 2–3 years of field experience in servicing, troubleshooting, and installation of offshore jack up equipment (jacking systems, deck cranes, skidders, anchor winches) in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Minimum 2–3 years of NDT inspection works.
- Experience with marine equipment for offshore jack up drilling rigs of Letourneau design is advantageous.
- PCN level 2 certification in PAUT, UT, ECT, or TOFD.
- PAUT in Multisector, In-Service certification.

Additional Information
- Willing to travel globally.
- Role responsibilities may be evaluated and adjusted over time as deemed fit for the role.
