Engineer, I-C Maintenance

Role Overview

Engineer, I-C Maintenance at ADNOC. The role is based on-site at an ADNOC facility and involves planning and supervising maintenance activities for instrument and control systems across the plant.

Role Purpose

Plan and supervise the maintenance activities of a wide range of instrument and control systems in the plant and coordinate these activities with operations and other maintenance teams to ensure reliable functioning of the instrument and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning, Execution and Expertise

• Provide support to operations and maintenance teams for equipment testing, troubleshooting, routine equipment surveillance and start-up activities.
• Liaise with Mechanical and Electrical sections and establish seamless integration between operation and maintenance teams to ensure compliance to planned maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support in the field for execution of critical maintenance activities to ensure problems are resolved with minimum downtime.
• Evaluate, allocate and arrange manpower requirements for daily preventive, breakdown and shutdown maintenance plans.
• Assess workload, backlog and work plan and coordinate with relevant sections to complete the work plan.
• Monitor and arrange resources for effective compliance to the agreed work plan.
• Monitor and control required material, spares, consumables and tools in high quality and quantities to ensure continuous availability.
• Conduct and implement root cause analysis of equipment failures and non-scheduled shutdowns and recommend problem resolutions to increase equipment reliability and availability.
• Provide input to prepare and track forthcoming major maintenance, upgrades and obsolescence issues to integrate with the division's 5-year rolling business plans.
• Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
• Participate in defining technical requirements, technical bid evaluation and inspection of materials on receipt to ensure specifications and required quality.
• Monitor performance of contractors for assigned works to ensure quality and standards.

Supervision

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills to enable proficiency on the job and delivery of section objectives.

Budget Management

• Provide input for preparation of Department and Section budgets and assist in implementation of approved budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
• Investigate and highlight significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

• Implement approved Department and Section policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures to support execution of work programs in line with Company and International standards.
• Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Performance Management

• Contribute to achievement of approved Performance Objectives for the Department and Section in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve quality and efficiency of operational processes.
• Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability

• Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures and controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reporting

• Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Communications and Relationships

• Maintain contact with line manager, peers and other employees within the company and group as required.
• Maintain contact with external parties including consultants, third-party service providers and government agencies as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation and Control, Electronics discipline or equivalent Professional Qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Instrument and Control engineering and maintenance within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Professional Certifications as applicable.

Additional Information

• Physical Effort: Minimal.
• Work Environment: Air-conditioned environment with occasional exposure to prevailing weather conditions including heat, humidity and dust during site visits.
