Role Overview

Jensen Hughes seeks a Principal Fire Engineer to join its UAE-based team. The role covers fire and life safety engineering, tunnel engineering, and chartered engineer responsibilities, serving clients across the Middle East and globally.

Role Purpose

Lead and deliver complex fire and life safety projects for a diverse Middle East client base. Shape future talent through mentorship and development while driving business growth and excellence across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Manage large and complex projects to ensure successful delivery to key clients.
• Work across a broad portfolio of projects in the Middle East and globally, covering all building types.

Technical Expertise

• Conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and analysis for smoke movement.
• Develop and use computer modelling software including CFAST, Pyrosim and Pathfinder to provide alternative fire engineering solutions.

Team Leadership

• Manage personnel in a team of engineers.
• Mentor and train graduate-level staff.

Client Management

• Serve as primary client-facing contact.
• Manage site inspections and address construction-related queries.

Business Development

• Own responsibility for identifying new clients and growing the business.

Qualifications & Experience

• BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in a fire engineering consultancy delivering fire strategy and fire safety consultancy services.
• Experience conducting fire risk assessments.
• Experience developing fire management plans.
• Experience in fire protection design and analysis.

Skills & Competencies

• Articulate communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CFD modelling software.
• Proficiency in CFAST, Pyrosim and Pathfinder.

Additional Information

• Willingness to be based in UAE and travel more than 50% across project sites.
