Role Overview
Engineer - Electrical at WSP Middle East. The role is based at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and involves overseeing the supervision, review, and coordination of electrical works for a major infrastructure development project.

Role Purpose
Oversee the supervision, review, and coordination of electrical works associated with roads, utilities, power distribution, street lighting, and telecom infrastructure. Ensure compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices while supporting the successful delivery of power distribution, street lighting, and related infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Monitoring
- Supervise and monitor electrical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance to contractors and site teams.
- Oversee installation of MV and LV power distribution networks, street lighting systems, telecom infrastructure, and associated electrical works.
Quality Assurance & Review
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
- Review inspection reports and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
- Witness testing, commissioning, energization, and handover activities.
- Demonstrate ability to review contractor deliverables and resolve technical issues.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with utility authorities, contractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
- Participate in meetings and provide technical input on electrical engineering matters.
- Support the Resident Engineer in project planning, reporting, risk management, and progress monitoring.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Identify technical issues, non-conformances, and construction challenges and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain strong knowledge of international electrical codes, standards, and industry practices.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in MV/LV power distribution, street lighting, electrical utilities, and telecom infrastructure.
- Previous experience working with engineering consultants on construction supervision projects.
- Experience in testing and commissioning of electrical infrastructure systems.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia and major infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Professional registration and relevant certifications will be considered an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of international electrical codes, standards, and industry practices.
- Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
- Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
