GHD delivers engineering, design, and advisory solutions across water, energy, resources, environment, property & buildings, and transportation sectors. The Energy team supports utilities, governments, developers and major energy users across electricity networks, renewable energy, utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), energy strategy and advisory, technical due diligence, regulatory support, grid integration, demand-side flexibility, and the energy needs of critical sectors such as data centres and water infrastructure.
Role Purpose
Build technical and consulting experience across a diverse portfolio of energy projects spanning electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, system integration, energy strategy and wider energy-transition initiatives. Contribute to technical and engineering assessments, feasibility and options studies, and advisory assignments while developing core consulting capabilities through mentoring and structured support.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Contribute to multidisciplinary energy projects across electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, system integration and energy strategy.
- Support feasibility and options studies, engineering design and assessments and technical advisory assignments.
- Manage assigned tasks and deliver quality work in accordance with agreed programme, governance and health and safety requirements.
Technical Analysis
- Collect, review and analyse technical, operational and project information.
- Assist in reviewing drawings, calculations, specifications, equipment data and other technical documentation.
- Prepare clear technical inputs for reports, presentations, bids and client deliverables.
Collaboration & Growth
- Work collaboratively with regional and global teams and participate in project, client and site meetings where appropriate.
- Support and champion growth initiatives across GHD's Middle East Energy team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Energy or Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Approximately one to two years of relevant early-career experience in consulting, utilities, project development, engineering or a related energy-sector environment.
- Foundational understanding of energy systems, with exposure to one or more areas such as electricity networks, renewable energy, energy storage, energy analysis or system integration.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to interpret technical information, communicate clearly, manage priorities and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Good digital capability, including confidence with standard Microsoft applications and an aptitude for learning relevant engineering, artificial intelligence applications, data-analysis and energy-modelling tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
