Role Overview
EMT Basic position with V2X, physically located in Kuwait in support of WEXMAC.

Role Purpose
This position performs specialized duty work functions preparing for and responding to fire and medical emergency calls while providing general support within the Fire Department. The role requires immediate readiness to respond to emergencies, assess patient conditions, deliver emergency care, and communicate with medical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response
- Maintain readiness for emergency call response; respond to fire, medical, and related emergency calls when dispatched and take proper action.
- Respond to emergency calls, assess the situation, obtain a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provide emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital.
- Use necessary medical equipment to assess the patient and ascertain the extent of their injuries or illness.
- Communicate with the paramedic and the Medical Officer about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time.
Education and Prevention
- Educate staff and public on fire safety and prevention.
- Perform Fire Department activities.
Operations and Planning
- Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within EMS operations.
- Perform a variety of tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Nationally Registered as an EMT-Basic.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in emergency healthcare setting.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working on an emergency response ambulance.
- Extensive Fire Fighting and Emergency Service Experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or above is an attribute; two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
- Hold CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications.
Skills & Competencies
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Excellent communicative skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer skills, copier and scanning experience, and the ability to learn newly acquired equipment into the EMS inventory.
- Preferred: seasoned instructor in the EMS career field.
Additional Information
Physical Requirements
- Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for very heavy work.
- Exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Lift a minimum of 100 pounds.
- Be physically able to operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment including motor vehicle, computer, stretchers, litters, and medical equipment.
- Be physically able to carry objects, patients, or materials.
- Position will require lifting, pulling, and dragging.
Work Schedule
- Work on shifts consisting of days, swings, and midnight shifts.
