Embryologist (IVF) at SEHA HOSPITALS.

Role Purpose

Deliver clinical embryology and andrology services in an assisted reproductive technology laboratory, managing all stages of gamete and embryo handling, processing, and cryopreservation in adherence to standard operating procedures and competency requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Embryology & Andrology Services

• Perform clinical embryology and andrology services following appropriate competency assessment and in adherence to standard operating procedures
• Conduct semen analysis and preparation for in vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and intrauterine insemination (IUI)
• Perform sperm cryopreservation and thawing
• Process, cryopreserve, and thaw epididymal sperm, testicular biopsies, and micro TESE

Oocyte & Embryo Management

• Collect oocytes
• Assess, inseminate, and inject oocytes using IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
• Handle and manipulate oocytes and embryos for assessment of fertilisation, cleavage, and blastocyst development
• Select embryos and assist in embryo transfer
• Perform embryo cryopreservation and thawing
• Conduct embryo biopsy (blastomere and trophectoderm) and tubing of cells for chromosomal screening and genetic diagnosis
• Prepare gamete and embryo culture dishes

Laboratory Operations & Support

• Communicate with patients on embryology treatment outcomes
• Assist in overall laboratory maintenance, including equipment maintenance, disinfection, and validation
• Maintain and audit cryo-storage tanks

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, health sciences, applied science, biology, or zoology
• Master's degree in human assisted reproductive technologies
• DOH License or Eligibility
