Electrician at Parker Wellbore. This position performs all tasks and duties of an electrical discipline on a global basis supporting drilling operations.

Role Purpose

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all electrical equipment and systems on drilling rigs and support equipment, including variable speed and SCR drives, generators, air conditioning, refrigeration, alarm systems, circulating, rotating, hoisting and well control systems. The role requires visible leadership, ownership of safety standards, and coordination with the maintenance team to ensure operational excellence and crew safety.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Safety

• Provide visible leadership with a Total Ownership attitude and own safety standards.
• Supervise and ensure the safety of those working under direct supervision.
• Promote operational excellence through procedural discipline.
• Support the HSE objective of no injuries, accidents or harm to the environment as it relates to all electrical processes, procedures, and policies.
• Ensure Authorized To Operate (ATO) and Approved Competent Operator (ACO) are applied and followed.
• Comply with emergency response plan or Work Safe Procedures during emergencies and drills.
• Responsible for morale and order within crew.

Governance & Compliance

• Enforce, clarify, and follow Company policies, standards, and procedures.
• Understand LO/TO and Permit to Work procedures.
• Maintain records of all electrical inventories and place orders as required within budgetary limits.

Operations & Maintenance

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all electrical equipment.
• Foresee potential equipment malfunctions or failures and perform required repairs, adjustments or modifications to resolve the problem.
• Repair or replace defective or worn electrical parts.

Equipment Installation & Repair

• Install and repair variable speed and SCR drives.
• Install electrical wiring on miscellaneous equipment including generators, air conditioning, refrigeration, and alarm systems.
• Install, test and maintain electrical equipment such as air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment.
• Repair electrical equipment such as panel lighting, circuit breakers, junction boxes, voltage regulators and reverse current relays.
• Fabricate and install electrical distribution panels for motor start and operations.
• Fabricate, install and maintain alarm and video systems.
• Install, calibrate and maintain gas detection equipment.
• Install and repair lighting systems.
• Splice wire with approved cutting device or cutting pliers and solder connections to fixtures, outlets and equipment.

Troubleshooting & Testing

• Test circuit connections using electrical test equipment.
• Download and upload PLC programs.
• Read and analyze PLC Control Logics.
• Troubleshoot control logics with PLC's based control.
• Troubleshoot and analyze VFD control logics.
• Troubleshoot miscellaneous electrical equipment.
• Read and analyze electrical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.

Coordination & Planning

• Delegate work effectively with a clear definition of requirements and expectations.
• Respond to emergencies as requested and coordinate onsite activities to utilize resources to facilitate repairs in the most expedient and cost effective manner.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Manager on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of equipment.
• Create job requests and work orders as required and enter into maintenance tracking system.
• Ensure an adequate amount of spare parts are on hand at all times.
• Submit requisitions to Rig Manager for approval.
• Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as may be directed.

Additional Information

• The role encompasses drilling and support equipment pertaining to the drilling of wells including but not limited to circulating, rotating, hoisting and well control systems.
