Electrical Inspector

Role Overview

Electrical Inspector at HILL International, responsible for inspecting and monitoring electrical installation works on complex projects to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

Role Purpose

Conduct site inspections of power distribution, lighting, low-current systems, and related electrical infrastructure. Verify installation quality, identify non-conformances, and coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Compliance

• Inspect installation of LV/MV electrical systems, conduits, panels, and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with approved electrical drawings and specifications.
• Monitor correct installation of cable trays, earthing systems, and devices.
• Ensure fire alarm, data, lighting control, and power systems meet quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to local electrical codes including IEC and NEC, and safety regulations.

Testing & Commissioning

• Witness testing and commissioning activities including insulation resistance, continuity, and grounding.
• Verify IRs are aligned with work completion and readiness for inspection.

Quality Control & Documentation

• Raise NCRs and track rectification measures related to electrical works.
• Document and report inspection findings and contractor performance.

Coordination

• Coordinate closely with mechanical and architectural inspectors on shared spaces and false ceiling areas.

General

• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7 or more years of inspection experience in complex projects (theme parks, hospitals, or airports preferred).
• Familiarity with ride systems, show lighting, and life safety electrical systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of testing protocols and international electrical standards.
