Electrical Engineer (Senior Project Engineer)

Role Overview

Senior Project Engineer – Electrical Engineer at Saudi Geophysical Consulting Office (A Sole Proprietorship).

Role Purpose

Lead electrical engineering design, verification, and project delivery for oil and gas field developments across FEED and detailed design phases, ensuring technical compliance, vendor management, and cross-disciplinary coordination through construction completion.

Key Responsibilities

Design Verification & Direction

• Verify and direct FEED and detailed design packages using extensive electrical knowledge and oil and gas field experience.
• Review and direct design for overhead transmission lines at voltage ratings of 13.8 kV, 34.5 kV, and 115 kV.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures, specifications, and guidelines in all design deliverables.

Technical Studies & Systems

• Conduct electrical system studies, calculations, and electrical area classifications.
• Develop plant layouts related to power, lighting, grounding, and substations.
• Design substations with voltage ratings from 480 V up to 115/230 kV including substation automation.

Equipment Specification & Vendor Management

• Specify and review technical data sheets for electrical equipment including transformers, switchgears, motor control centers, UPS systems, DC power systems, and motors.
• Review technical bid evaluations and provide recommendations.
• Review and approve all vendor documents and drawings.
• Conduct vendor document reviews and evaluation of engineering deliverables.

Project Delivery & Coordination

• Support projects through all EPC phases: engineering, material procurement, and construction management of hydrocarbon facilities with emphasis on FEED and detailed design.
• Provide technical support during construction phases.
• Ensure timely review of all engineering deliverables.
• Interact closely with other discipline members to resolve installation issues during the installation phase.
• Coordinate activities and resolve issues among contractors and other parties to ensure construction progress according to plan and final mechanical completion.

Jafurah Project Support

• Provide technical qualification and support to the Jafurah Project.

Leadership & Development

• Demonstrate strong technical writing skills.
• Mentor and motivate young Saudi engineers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive electrical knowledge and experience in oil and gas field operations.
• Relevant experience in oil and gas project management engineering.
• Experience across EPC phases with emphasis on engineering (FEED and detailed design) and construction support.
