Role Overview
Electrical Engineer at Al Jomaih Energy and Water, based in Taweelah, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a greenfield CCGT project with a net power capacity of 2400 MW, located approximately 50 km north-east of Abu Dhabi city. Project duration is 3 to 4 years.

Role Purpose
The Electrical Engineer will oversee and manage electrical engineering aspects of the project throughout its full lifecycle, from design and engineering to construction and operation. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications while contributing to a dynamic and innovative environment that promises stability and long-term impact.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and review electrical engineering project plans.
- Ensure alignment of electrical engineering activities with project objectives and timelines.
Design Analysis
- Review design documents prepared by the EPC contractor and provide comments.
- Attend design review meetings.
- Review special studies performed by third parties and provide commentary.
Equipment Selection and Sourcing
- Assist in selection of appropriate electrical equipment and materials based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source high-quality and cost-effective components.
Construction Oversight
- Oversee electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with construction teams to address and resolve on-site engineering issues.
Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain quality control measures for electrical engineering components.
- Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with industry standards.
Budget and Cost Management
- Collaborate with project managers and cost engineers to develop and manage electrical engineering budgets.
- Monitor and control costs to ensure projects stay within budget constraints.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical engineering activities.
- Prepare regular progress reports and documentation for project management.
Stakeholder Communication
- Act as liaison between the electrical engineering team and other project stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on electrical engineering progress and challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in power generation (CCGT) or EPC projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Information
- Reports to Project Manager.
- The project comprises the Plant and associated Electrical Special Facilities (ESF).
