E&I Estimator – EPC Tenders at Archirodon Group N.V., preparing cost estimates for electrical, instrumentation, control and telecom scopes on complex Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects across the Middle East and North Africa.

Role Purpose

The E&I Estimator prepares accurate, competitive and well-qualified cost estimates for electrical, instrumentation, control and telecom scopes of EPC/EPCC tenders serving oil & gas, refinery, petrochemical and gas-processing projects across the Middle East and North Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Assessment

• Perform and verify quantity take-offs from single-line diagrams, cable schedules, instrument index, I/O lists, hook-up drawings, cable routing, earthing and lighting layouts.
• Develop quantities from benchmarks, ratios and historical data where FEED is limited.

Scope Management

• Identify scope gaps, ambiguities and risks, including vendor-package, free-issue and contractor scope splits.
• Prepare technical queries and clarifications for the client.
• Navigate complex scope splits between vendor packages, client free-issue items and contractor scope.

Cost Estimation

• Develop detailed estimates for the entire scope of Electrical & Instrument works.
• Build unit rates from first principles, incorporating labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs.
• Adjust productivity norms for Middle East conditions, including summer working-hour restrictions, remote desert sites and logistics.
• Price lump-sum work with limited FEED, where cable and instrument quantities are often only indicative, accepting the risk of quantity growth.

Planning Support

• Prepare manpower histograms, tools and test equipment requirements and durations.
• Provide inputs to planning and site indirects.

Market Considerations

• Manage exposure to volatile copper prices and long lead times for major electrical equipment and packaged control systems.
• Apply different client standards, methods of measurement and commercial conditions across countries.
• Work within tight tender timelines, often with several bids running in parallel.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering (mandatory).
• 5–7 years of estimating experience in EPC Oil & Gas, Refinery or Petrochemical projects.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the GCC (preferred).
• Hands-on pricing experience of the E&I scope of NOC tenders, such as ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, PDO and KOC.
