Role Purpose
The Cardio Vascular Technologist prepares patients and diagnostic equipment for procedures, assists physicians in interpreting image data, and ensures compliance with departmental policies, regulations, and quality improvement objectives while maintaining patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Preparation & Communication
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients.
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical and healthcare errors.
Clinical Support & Data Management
- Assist physicians in interpreting data from images and determine which images should be saved.
- Maintain all kinds of procedure-related records.
Coordination & Administration
- Coordinate with billing team for efficient and smooth flow of required information.
- Coordinate with insurance staff for procedure approval.
- Liaise with Cath Lab staff.
Compliance & Quality
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement objectives are met and maintained.
- Follow MOH rules and regulations.
Inventory & Systems Management
- Monitor nearing expiry and expired items in order to dispose of them according to policy.
- Maintain the computerized system to monitor and update stock levels in the assigned area.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Cardiac Technology (preferable).
- 3 years of experience.
