Role Overview

Early Career Traineeship – Technical Applications Engineer at GE Vernova in Bahrain. This is a 12-month position that reports to the GA Lead Technical Applications Engineer.

GE Vernova operates in the power and energy sector, serving Utilities and Oil & Gas customers across the Gulf region. The role works closely with GE Vernova sales, engineering, and services teams.

Role Purpose

Develop business in the Gulf region through technical support, product expertise, and market intelligence. Build customer relationships, support product approvals, and drive technical sales opportunities while providing Level 2 technical support to regional clients.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Marketing & Business Development

• Deliver technical sessions and create opportunities based on installed base and market information.
• Improve awareness of GE Vernova solutions across the region.
• Obtain competitor data, market share, and volume information.
• Track evolving customer specifications and requirements.

Technical Support

• Provide Level 2 technical support to clients in Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors.
• Address technical queries and develop customized solutions.
• Support scheme engineering and field performance analysis.
• Investigate and resolve product problems reported by customers.
• Support resolution of major non-quality issues through local actions.

Product Launches & Approvals

• Support product launches, presentations, discussions, and spec-in activities.
• Participate in exhibitions and site trials through Marketing.
• Implement actions necessary for product approvals based on regional strategy and priorities.

Commercial Support

• Support the Tendering team in studying customer technical and commercial requirements.
• Assist Management during contract negotiations.

Product Management

• Monitor product obsoletions and new product availability.
• Track firmware upgrades and changes in product features.
• Participate in necessary local actions related to product updates.
• Support customers with product literature needs in line with regional strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university or college.
• Fresh graduate or maximum 2 years of professional experience.
• Fluent in English.
• Legal right to work in Bahrain without company sponsorship or time restriction.

Skills & Competencies

• Interest and college project experience in Automation products and Grid Automation field.
• Knowledge and experience in protection relays and substation automation.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills to quickly understand and guide solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills with emphasis on innovative and creative solutions that drive higher profitability, increased visibility, and market penetration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive work style and creativity with high energy.
• Experience with AI tools.
