Role Overview
Duct Fabricator at MIRA Construction. This is a hands-on role within the MEP/construction team focused on HVAC ductwork fabrication and installation.
Role Purpose
Fabricate and prepare HVAC ductwork according to approved drawings and specifications while maintaining quality, accuracy and safety standards. The role combines shop fabrication with occasional site installation and coordination with HVAC technicians and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication
- Fabricate HVAC ductwork according to approved drawings, dimensions and specifications.
- Cut, bend, form and assemble GI sheet metal for ductwork.
- Fabricate different types of duct sections, fittings, bends, elbows, transitions and other components.
- Take accurate measurements and calculate required duct dimensions and materials.
- Minimize material wastage through accurate measurement and cutting.
Quality & Inspection
- Ensure proper dimensions, alignment and finishing of fabricated ductwork.
- Inspect fabricated ductwork for dimensional accuracy and defects.
- Ensure duct fabrication is completed according to project specifications and required quality standards.
Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret HVAC/MEP drawings and duct layouts.
- Work from shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Coordinate with HVAC technicians, installers, supervisors and site engineers.
- Report material requirements, fabrication issues and technical discrepancies to the supervisor.
Installation & Site Work
- Install and assemble ductwork at project sites when required.
- Coordinate fabrication with HVAC installation teams.
Maintenance & Safety
- Maintain proper use and care of fabrication tools and equipment.
- Follow site safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized fabrication/work area.
Qualifications & Experience
- Hands-on experience as a Duct Fabricator in HVAC/MEP or construction projects.
- Good practical knowledge of GI duct fabrication.
- Experience fabricating duct fittings including elbows, reducers, transitions and offsets.
- Experience with HVAC duct fabrication for commercial, residential or large-scale construction projects.
- Good understanding of ductwork installation and site coordination.
- Knowledge of construction site safety requirements.
- Previous UAE/GCC experience will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to read and understand HVAC/MEP drawings.
- Knowledge of duct measurements, dimensions and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with different duct materials, insulation requirements and duct accessories.
- Ability to use common sheet-metal and duct fabrication tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site/fabrication team.
